ABOUT ME
I'm a former marketing manager at Rockwell Group, a prestigious architecture and design firm in New York City. After 5 years, I decided that the 9-5/2 weeks of vacation a year lifestyle didn't quite suit me, so I decided to leave it all behind to travel Asia with my brother. I'm a self-admitted francophile who loves to travel and experience other cultures first hand.
Here's my blog! http://stopandgo2011.tumblr.com/
PHILOSOPHY
I love food, art, language and how all these things weave together to create unique and inspiring cultures across the globe. I hope to be able to experience as much of these things as I can in my lifetime.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to couchsurfing, but am excited to take part in the global community! I have participated in other travel exchange/hosting websites such as Airbnb and have loved meeting new people and sharing my home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a new "couch surfer" but I've been hosting on Airbnb for a few months and have loved sharing my home and meeting new people!
Here is my Airbnb profile: http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/72437
Interests
Things I'm proudly interested in: Food, quality film, quality television (mostly AMC shows like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead) foreign cultures, mythologies, and all things French . Things I'm slightly ashamed to admit interest me: celebrity culture, E! television, and I'll be in line opening night for all comic-book/superhero movies.
My brother, who I'm traveling with, is pretty much a hard-core gamer who loves all things tech, Howard Stern and quality television shows and films (like his sister!).

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: reach a far spectrum from Mean Girls to The Shawshank Redemption and everything in between (including all Marvel movies!). Music is cyclical and again is hard to define...recent Pandora stations include Adele and Kanye West.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2004, I was employed at a summer program in Paris for about 200 (rich and spoiled) American high school students. On an excursion to the end of the Tour de France, my fellow counselors and I snuck into Ledoyen, a ritzy restaurant just off the Champs Elysee that was hosting the Dutch cycling team's family and friends. We missed the finish of the race, but enjoyed an afternoon of champagne and dutch treats :)
Teach, Learn, Share
At "real" university, I studied French and Art History, so one could argue that I know these subjects pretty well....but I feel I've learning more about the world (and myself) during my time spent living and traveling abroad. It has taught me patience and an open-mindedness to other cultures.
My brother and I are both considerably street smart, which I believe (and hope) will lend us to be good and able traveling companions. We share a good skill set which will be helpful to us on our journey and also be helpful to anyone who might host us. Jeremy knows about all things tech (so he's in charge of our Ipad and cell phone setup). I'm quick with languages and a foodie who loves to seek out the best (and cheapest) local eat and also loves to cook when I get a chance (I make a mean mac' n' cheese!).
