Overview
About Me
Southern CA native. Friendly, easy-going and a tad quirky. I wish to continue learning, growing and connecting the dots of life - which I believe involves travel and exploring! My day job is at an environmental health nonprofit in Los Angeles, "fighting" air pollution through policy and organizing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've caught a serious case of that travel bug, and really yearn to see other parts of the world to see beautiful landscapes, and meet others to share experiences, perspectives... all that good stuff!
Interests
I love to see live music, attempt DIY projects, explore new places, hike, camp, try/learn new things. I have an interest in development issues as they pertain to sustainability and social justice.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorites are difficult. And changing.
Ray LaMontagne. Bon Iver. A Tribe Called Quest. Lianne La Havas. Miles Davis. Alabama Shakes. Josh Garrels. Pink Floyd. The Temper Trap. I find it difficult to narrow my taste to specific genres, but gravitate toward sounds that are mellow and/or soulful. Love rock, some folk, and kind of anything with soul. I appreciate a good beat, and either beautifully complex instrumental arrangements or songs that are very stripped-down and bare. Also need my fix of oldies from time to time :-)
The movies Inception, Being John Malkovich, and the book Slaughterhouse Five tickled my brain. Zombieland!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped organize 200+ people and rode a train across the United States from California to New York City to participate in the largest climate-related demonstration in history, the People's Climate March!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have just picked up a trumpet which I'd like to learn how to play, and desire to learn more about off-grid / sustainable building design. I can speak to environmental awareness and perception (from a non-antihuman or overly depressing viewpoint) and/or teach Korean for those who'd like to learn the language!
Would appreciate any other useful/interesting skills, tidbits of information, or life lessons / stories you are willing to share.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I offer conversation and a great pair of listening ears, a companion to try new things with (if we're both interested), exchange of music, knowledge about my home state, some help around the house if needed, and extra food or treats when I have them!
