About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Visit every county in South and Central America, but slowly, slowly

ABOUT ME

I have a weakness for sushi, T.S. Eliot, and songs about the difference between how things are and how they should be.

I write short, short love stories and people publish them sometimes. (I think all short stories are love stories, and all love stories are short stories.)

I will learn Spanish, by george, if I have to die trying.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn something new everyday

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When a stranger asked ME for directions on the streets of Bogota, Colombia. I'd been staying there for almost two months and suddenly had that disorienting feeling of someone thinking I lived there... and actually being able to give coherent directions!

Seeing old names hand carved into stone by their bearers, such as near Fort Laramie in Wyoming (I can't remember the name of the place now!) or Stone Mountain near Atlanta, Georgia. I get an equal thrill when doing genealogical research and seeing my ancestor's signatures or X marks.
