Overview
About Me
I am a mom with older kids, a high school teacher for the past 20 years, and I enjoy traveling. I spent last week in Paris, France with a group of students and now am going to spend a week in Ithaca, NY, working on an orchard. I need a place to stay that when my plane arrives in NY for myself and my significant other who is picking me up. I look forward to meeting new people and experiencing couch-surfing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To travel to interesting places on a teacher's budget.
Interests
I'm very laid back, enjoying quiet leisure activities. I walk every day with my beautiful dog, Zelda, and try to get a hike on the Appalachian Trail, which runs through my county, at least once a week. I'm an avid Game of Thrones reader and viewer, so don't get me started unless you are, too! I love to knit with all natural fibers, keeping my boyfriend flush in scarves.

Music, Movies, and Books
Seventies folk/Rock, 40's Jazz, A Room with a View, Game of Thrones series,
Rat Race, Tropic Thunder, and Hamlet II are three of my favorite movies of all time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've walked on a glacier in Canada and drank the melt-off - the fountain of youth.
Teach, Learn, Share
I speak French proficiently, but am always trying to get better. I am a pretty decent writer and have blogged travel guides to Paris. I have taught knitting in the past. I would love to learn how to play the guitar, but have struggled with my small fingers. I play saxophone, so I can teach that.
