About Me

Hi, my name is Jenny and I am a pocket full of sunshine☀️. I work at a mass particle accelerator lab. I study physics. I like to fully dive into culture and plan my trips on the go. I don't really have expectations, and try to make the most of my adventures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would say I'm still beta testing it out. So far still alive so that's a good sign. I would only use it when traveling alone because it gets kind of lonely going to an empty hotel, or because I have a death wish and trust strangers too much -- that's how people get "taken". I like to enjoy different social norms, so staying with locals has been fun.

Interests

I really enjoy the outdoors because of the different elements there are to take it. Despite how many times I go to that site, (forest, beach, mountains, etc.) it's always different. Simple things like, who I'm with, the weather, the animals, the view; can completely change the experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOK: East of Eden by John Steinbeck has profoundly impacted my life. Long story short, it's about how we can choose who we want to be, not careerwise, but the qualities we want to have as a human being.

MOVIE: I'm not sure if I would say it's my favorite movie, but it's the one I can rewatch multiple times. It's 42, the story of Jackie Robinson, first black man to enter the major league baseball.

MUSIC: My all time favorite would have to be the Fray. They make such great analogies and create a story to describe the simplest feelings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took apart a dead body in anatomy class, a cadaver. Not sure how common that is. Also, I've been inside a mass particle accelerator tank to clean it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Korean, it's useless language unless you go to Korea, country that consistently is top 5 highest suicide rate. (You thought I was going to say something positive about he mother land huh?) Plastic surgery is cheaper there (that's a plus) but the low stake fines of malpractice suits makes it more dangerous (that's a minus). I know a lot of weird morbid facts, also not so morbid.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm entertaining and upbeat (unless you don't like that then I'll pipe down). I can cook (I'm clumsy so I don't think you want me to clean/break your things). Or I can treat you out to food. I offer my friendship. 🙏🏼
