Hi! I'm Jenny, and I'm currently on a year long trip with my partner Jamie. We met in University and have been together since 2009, and have been married since 2015. We are lucky enough to have gone on lots of adventures together (and separately) but this year will be our biggest one yet as we're spending half the year exploring US and Canada living in a tiny van - our Ford Transit Connect named Linda - and the other half exploring SE Asia and Eastern Europe while living out of backpacks!

It is hard to connect with people when moving around so often! We also both think it would be great to meet people who are local to the areas we have traveled to and learn about what it's actually like to live there.

Also, over the years we have stayed in a lot of hostels, and although hostels are great and we will definitely be staying in more of them we have experienced the same issue above about meeting people and making connections. We're excited to join the couchsurfing community and hope to host as well once we are back home!

Música, películas y libros

I (Jenny) read A LOT so asking me to pick favorite books is a difficult task! I have an affinity for historical fiction and Harry Potter but read pretty much everything and am always looking for book recommendations.

We both love music of all kinds and all genres - punk, metal, country, classical, pop, etc and love seeing live music, which is something we hope we are going to get to do a lot on this trip!

- spent a month in 2014 backpacking around Western Europe and packing in as many countries/cities as possible, it was an awesome but exhausting whirlwind of a trip!

- road tripped around Costa Rica for 2 weeks in 2016

- drove around Iceland in a campervan for 10 days in 2017, which is how we got the idea for the first part of our current trip!

- backpacked in Thailand for 2 weeks in 2018, and we are excited to explore more of Thailand and southeast Asia this year!

Enseña, aprende, comparte

We can share any information about travelling in Canada as we've explored almost every province of our beautiful country (only have Newfoundland and Labrador plus the territories left to visit!) as well as answer any questions about building out a small van to live in! We have also visited approx. 35/50 states in the USA so can recommend a good road trip! Jamie is a mechanical design engineer, wannabe inventor, and grew up on a working farm so can talk about machinery in length as well as his love for building, working on, and driving motorcycles. As mentioned above I (Jenny) am a book nerd, and my passion is travelling and potentially finding somewhere new in the world to live. I also just love to talk , listen, and learn in general so if you want to share something you are interested in and passionate about, I'd love to hear it!

We like to cook together and would be happy to make a meal for hosts, and are very flexible eaters (allergies? vegan? No problem!) We are looking for the opportunity to make new connections and can share at length about any of our travels, hobbies, etc. We're both easy-going and would love the opportunity to get to know you!
