Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To farm throughout Europe, and eventually settle down to homestead and help out in our home in America.
ABOUT ME
We met each other while volunteering full time at a farm 90 minutes outside of Boston. We are very passionate about cooperative, sustainable, self-produced living. We are well-versed in mucking around for pumpkins, spreading compost with kids, and spending quality time with pigs. We are also voracious readers, love to play music with our harmonicas and ukulele, and cooking. We are currently traveling throughout Europe, mostly in the country but also in cities, working on farms, making new friends, learning new languages and honing the skills we possess.
We don't have specific dietary preferences. Also, Matt does not drink and neither of us smoke cigarettes.
PHILOSOPHY
We live happily and helpfully, giving what we can and learning and growing in the process.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Being as hospitable as we can and spreading the word whenever we can!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Both of us have put up several people at our old farm, where we enjoyed many shared meals, sunny field work, and songs after dinner. Since arriving on the Continent, we have had marvelous CS experiences in the streets of Barcelona and the bells of Notre Dame, while busking in Galway and devouring various cheeses, local music, and most of all wonderful conversation and friendship.
Interests
Farm animals, banjos, drums, fresh vegetables, books, sauerkraut, yoghurt and creamy milk, being with our families, riding bikes, camping, rivers and mountains.

Planet Earth, Nina Simone, JRR Tolkien and Sherlock Holmes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
We spent forty grueling, sweaty, and magnificent days caretaking a herd of 75 sheep and goats in Italy's gorgeous Piemonte region. We also learned how to make delicious cheese and transcendent pasta.
Teach, Learn, Share
Matt is a very experienced and studied cook who has worked in several restaurants. He makes glorious meals daily, and is always willing to share, whether someone wants to know how to make something or simply wants a plate of food. Jenny has extensive knowledge of farm matters, and also spins wool to use in various knitting projects. She is also an aspiring ukulele player and loves her banjo like a brother.
