Wanna surf? Check out the couch info! (It is not a tip, it´s a must do...)

Bob Dylan (pretentious, much?) said in an interview once that he "was born a long way from where he was meant to be" a quote that has made sense to me most years of my life. As soon I as graduated and became my own person, I travelled travelled travelled... From Cape North to Johannesburg and beyond. Loving the movement, the moving, life ever changing but ironically with a growing longing for a place to call home. Home is where the heart is, yatiyata... Most of my heart has always been in Sweden, although bits and pieces by now are spread across the globe. I have always hated to leave, but loved to go - as the song goes.

I saw myself becoming a doctor somewhere in the future, and suddenly the future came and bit me in the ass and I ended up spending 7 years in Stockholm studying (2018), the longest ever since leaving after highschool, at the same time itching with restlessness that I have tried to hold back with long treks away in wilderness and hosting a variety of couchsurfers until I ended up taking a longer break from hosting, which I blame entirely on the arrival of my offspring in Aug 2015. It also meant finishing medschool took a bit longer, but now I am all graduated and working and have moved - not only city - but from my small studentflat into a grown-up-person´s apartment I still cant believe is mine and that will definitely have room for surfers! Those who can stand kids ;)

Some fun facts about me, I haven’t changed since I first joined:
- I wiggle my toes when I'm nervous.
- I sing quietly to myself to feel more comfortable in awkward situation, or just to be able think of something else.
- I cry when I get even the slightest fever (creating many weird situations... )
- I suck at guitar, but got absolutely sick of being the girl watching the boys play and so I sing along with my off-sync chords...
- I m a vegetarian, and have been since I was 12 and will gladly discuss it with anyone offended (why is it that meat-eaters get offended, I still wonder?)
- I will gladly discuss anything at all and would say I'm a good listener but still I very seldom change my mind and I get loud and aggravated about politics, feminism and religion. Among other things ;)
- I am the oldest sister of six, making me the multi-tool - overprotecting super-fixer, taxi and teacher all in one =)
- I think life is absolutely beautiful, and I get overwhelmed with hopelessness when I see how we destroy the world.
- I love the city, but I want to live on a farm. Sometimes.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Couch-surfing is like the third dimension of traveling =)
You get hooked for life. Why travel in any other way?

As most people, I think it started out as a 'how-to-travel-cheap'-idea on my way to Australia in 2007, but it only takes one couch to realize how amazing it is to change places for people and how countries become alive with real faces, instead of strangers at hostels.
I have couch-surfed through Finland, Russia and China, Australia and the US.
Wonderful experiences!
I suddenly believe a place can not be fully appreciated unless you surfed somebodies couch!
I love it.

Plus all the CSers I've ever met are interesting, open-minded, lovely people.
The idea in itself is absolutely brilliant, it's about solidarity, and I have tried to host whenevere I have had the possibility.

You have to be the change you want to see in the world! a wise man once said...
Especially now, when airbnb has capitalized the shit of the CS-idea.

- Alanis Morisette. (I was a very angry girl, growing up in a boyband-world)
- Looptroop, especially Promoe, who I was madly in love with for years. He changed my life in many ways, and I'm grateful for it.

- musician friends and the everyday live music making life easier to live (Nick!) =)
- bleeding fingertips after playing a song for the seven-hundredth time, still not in sync ;)

Books/ Films
Nowadays I am a non-fiction-book kind of girl but I have always read a lot, always, anything.
I like funny movies, and beautiful movies.
And I have zero tolerance for movies and books I don't like, I wont waste my time finishing them... (yes, I am that annoying person leaving the cinema in the middle of a movie)
