About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Is world peace too big? Lving, restoring, harmonious, beautiful peace.

ABOUT ME

I am currently a student, studying theology. I love to travel anywhere, encounter new people, and experience life in new places. I lived in Switzerland for a year, and long to return to living abroad, hopefully working again with the expat community.
My soul is alive in the mountains. I ache for them when I am away, and breathe deeply when I see them. I love to hike, climb, camp, kayak, and ski. I am always up for any trip to the mountains.
I love to read and write, though I am always convinced I am not doing enough of either.
I enjoy food a lot. I love good beer, red wine, and scotch. I have recently fallen in love with making bread, and I love cooking anytime there is a kitchen nearby. I think I experience a place through its food--I usually find the local basic food first when I visit a place.
I love living in deep encounters with people, and I think this is what life is about. My current passions are conflict resolution and interfaith work, which is what I spent my summer doing thus far.

PHILOSOPHY

Earth's crammed with heaven,
and every common bush afire with God,
but only he who sees takes off his shoes...
-Elizabeth Barrett Browning

I believe we are surrounded by the sacred, and I hope to live in a way that sees this in ever person, place, and moment. Nothing excites me more than seeing people embrace differences and work together to better the world, and nothing upsets me more than seeing hate, hurt, and division. I never stop being amazed at the good and beauty in people when you get to know them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting, when I return from traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I learned about CS when I traveled in New England with a friend. We were hosted by some wonderful people who shared their lives with us, recommended hikes, and took us out for drinks. It was traveling in a much better way, and I was hooked. Since then, I've joined, but haven't had a chance to participate. I'm traveling till September, but look forward to hosting in Princeton after that.
