About Me

I am a free-spirited person who strongly believes that the world has much to offer beyond our immediate surroundings. I love exploring new cultures, and the opportunity to learn amazing things from people is a major motivating factor for me. Originally from Colombia, I moved to the United States over 10 years ago. I have lived in Denver, Boston, and relocated to Houston in 2022. Working from home allows me the freedom to embrace this lifestyle.

I have always been a dreamer, and discovering different places and meeting people from diverse backgrounds and life journeys has always appealed to me. The best memories of my life often involve others, and I greatly cherish everything I can learn from them; my life becomes richer with each story I hear.

In addition, I am an animal rescue advocate and have volunteered and fostered in animal shelters before. My true Zen comes from the company of dogs. I enjoy going for walks in nature, taking road trips, and I am a serious ice cream aficionado! 🍨

There will always be reasons to delay or postpone things until “the right time” comes, so I’ve been trying to be more intentional about pursuing my travel dreams and seizing opportunities as they arise. I packed my car and left my home in June to embark on a journey to witness beautiful landscapes and meet incredible people, which brings me to where I am now.

Ultimately, I am a respectful and trustworthy individual seeking to add more meaningful experiences to my life by staying in your home for as long as you are able to accommodate me during my visit. I will most likely be working quietly during the day, though I might venture out to a nearby coffee shop or library for a change of scenery. I am quiet and will take care of your home as if it were my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe Couchsurfing is a remarkable community united by a shared passion for exploring new places and connecting with people which ends up providing a more rewarding and enriching experience than staying at a hotel.

Please know that I take the time to read your entire profile because I genuinely want to learn about you and your interests. Moreover, I don't use template messages but instead, I take the time to talk to you as a potential future connection/friend. Having said this, respect goes both ways so the only thing I ask in return is to please answer my message even if it is to let me know you aren't available. I promise you, no hard feelings! Our paths couldn't cross this time but who knows, maybe they will in the future so courtesy goes a long way 🌿

Interests

Dogs, dogs, dogs and...more dogs! 🐶
Besides traveling, I love reading, live shows, concerts, tv shows, movies, yoga and meeting new people.
I am 100% a family person! I have an incredible (and pretty big) family who support me and love me unconditionally. As a typical Latin family, we stay in touch all the time and I greatly cherish those moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

This could be a long list so I'll try to make it short:
Harry Potter (books and movies)
Game of Thrones, The Last of Us, Breaking Bad, Friends, Schitt’s Creek, Modern Family, How I met your mother, The Secret, James Patterson, Agatha Christie. And so many others to list! Let's talk and connect!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have dreamed about traveling probably since I was 5 years old, but going to college and living with my parents (which is normal in my country) kept me "safe" in my comfort zone. But one day I decided to follow my dreams, I packed my bags and left my beautiful home country to live abroad. It has been over a decade now and I will never regret my decision. This has been the best experience ever!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an honest, communicative and respectful person. I want to learn from others and I also want to show people how cool my Colombian culture is.
I can also easily be accommodating. If you have the time to hang out here and there, share some life stories and potentially explore together...that'd be great! But if other commitments take you elsewhere, please don't fret ✨
I am my own favorite company, very content with my solitude so I will be more than happy/comfortable to do things on my own and explore. I will most likely be working regular business hours anyway and venture out in the evenings and on weekends.
Your hospitality already goes a long way so anything beyond that is a cherry on top!
