About Me

23 y/o traveler, avid Marathon runner, mountain lover, writer and storyteller

I am Jens, born in Munich, but my current home is Berlin. Moving and adjusting to new people from different cultures was inherent to my social wellbeing, as I moved from Munich to a small Bavarian village, to Shanghai, to Berlin, back to Munich, to Milan.

Couchsurfing, like hitchhiking always daunted me, but after talking to so many fellow travelers and reading the book "Hello Stranger" - Will Buckingham, I am convinced and ready to couchsurf and host.

Apart from exercising, I have a passion for food. The preparation, consumption, history of food are very important to me, but nothing goes beyond sharing food and having a nice talk after eating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to connect with locals and travellers, complain about the everyday struggles, learn the language, have a few laughs.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My time in Berlin definitely shaped my love for Techno. I enjoy going to tunnel-raves and festivals. However, to relax I really enjoy Tame Impala. To study analytical subjects I always listen to French Rap :)

Movies: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Weit: Eine Reise um die Welt, Inglorious Bastards. I enjoy "movie" movies, which are inspirational, have huge payoff moments and portray a nice message. The movies should leave me feeling inspired, in tears or my abdominal muscles cramped up from laughing so hard.

Books: I love cooking books (SALT, FAT, ACID, HEAT), philosophical books (The Art of Loving) and started writing my own travel diaries

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran the Berlin Marathon, Hitchhiked around Iran

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach any of the languages that I speak. My ability to grind it out and work hard when it matters, had brought me decent success at my age, I want to share that

I want to learn how to be kind and how to love. Ofc, I also want to learn French, which is only complementary to the latter part of the previous sentence.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to go to local supermarkets and pick up groceries. From that I will prepare a budget gourmet meal
