Hi! I graduated from the UC Santa Barbara a little over a year ago and decided I wasn't ready to go straight into the "real world" or back to school, so I left for Europe. I've been living in the Netherlands as an au pair since January 1st and absolutely love it! I've been able to explore the Netherlands and travel around Europe some more. I studied political science with an emphasis in international relations at UCSB; I'm planning on eventually going to law school and working my way to work in Den Haag, the Netherlands. Otherwise, I love the ocean (I love them all but the Pacific has a special piece of my heart), long walks in the sand and a good book. With a glass of wine.

Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing

I love to travel. I love all the aspects of traveling: going to new places, having to combat language barriers, meeting new people, hearing their stories. In recent times, I've found myself wanting to stray from the touristy attractions and experience the local heart of where I'm traveling to. At first, I was satisfied being surrounded by crowds looking up at the Eiffel Tower or taking photos of David in Florence, but now I want to really understand the city or country I'm visiting, and the only way to really do that is to get a local's perspective. So, long story short, I'm on Couchsurfing so that I can truly understand the local culture of the place I'm traveling to. Unfortunately, I'm currently unable to offer my own place up since I'm living with a host family, I plan to return the favor once I'm back home or settled into my own place somewhere new.

I grew up in Oceanside, California. I was elected as Biggest Beach Bum in my graduating class in high school. I feel at home near any ocean or sea. I don't fully understand it, but it's true. I also love wine. And a good IPA. As for politics, I'm mostly interested in international politics, specifically in international organizations like the United Nations or the European Union. While I'm invested in US politics, it mostly frustrates me more than inspires me, so I tend to research more international topics.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

I'm not a good music fan. Don't get my wrong, I like almost everything but I don't register names or artists or bands or songs or albums. Almost anything you put on, I'll like. Except maybe hardcore electronic. As for movies, I like everything except scary movies. I still love Disney movies, I don't care if I'm too old now. As for books, I'm currently reading "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr, and I'm obsessed. It's one of the best books I've read the past few years. "The Kite Runner" is also one of my favorites, although, it broke my heart. I'm also slowly going through the classics, like "Crime and Punishment".

I would have to say skydiving is the most amazing thing I've done. I've been 4 times now, and every single time, I fall more in love with it. It's hard to explain the feeling unless you've done it yourself (which I definitely recommend).
