Overview
About Me
After four years of living in Kobe, Japan, I am back in the US. It’s still a reverse culture shock for me to live here. There are so many small surprises about my home country. With this, I am learning so much about Orlando.
Since I'm working a typical Monday to Friday schedule, I can hang out on weekends or evenings. We can meet in the city after I get off work. Follow me on Instagram @jenchannnn to see where I’m hanging out.
When I’m traveling I don’t usually plan, so to help the other non-planners of the world, message me if you have a last minute request!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to help people understand the city of KOBE. I want my guests to feel comfortable and free when they're in my neighborhood. I've had so many great experiences on CS, just wanna keep spreading the positivity. As a solo female traveler, I want other women to message me if they have any questions or if they need a futon.
In turn, when I'm traveling I hope people can do the same with me.
Also, having people at my place helps me to keep it clean.
Interests
I like surprises! Education is my passion, lets talk classroom management and creative teaching methods. I'm a big fan of laughing, but in my case, I like vicious humor. One of my dreams is to become a storyteller, I would love to hear from people who have experience in performing arts. Overall, I live for creativity and beauty.

Music, Movies, and Books
Junot Díaz writes about the immigrant experience in the US which is my family's entire existence. I also love to read Haruki Murakami, he’s utterly delightful. His books make me so excited to read.
Going to music festivals where I can camp with a bunch of happy hippies is my joy.
Some preferred artists: Natalia Lafourcade, Jorge Drexler, Frank Ocean, Beyoncé. Phoenix had one of the greatest performances I've been blessed to have seen.
I don't normally watch films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I’m an amazing person, y’all.
Drunk gazing at the dusty milky way while digging for sand fleas on a volcanic ash beach on the pacific coast of Panama.
Hitchhiking and freecamping through a traditional pilgrimage route in Shikoku, Japan.
Starting my master’s degree in teaching English while working at UCF. Thankfully, all paid through scholarship!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a language teacher. I practice flower arrangement. I do belly dancing. I'm very interested in cooking, teach me the ways of your country! When I have guests at my house, we usually share some stories and alcohol before bed. Always a great time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My happiness. It's catching.
