About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to be the change I want to see in the world

ABOUT ME

I currently live in Phoenix, Arizona with my husband and two puppies while I finish going to school to be a Naturopathic Physician.

I'm fun, easy to get along with, non-judgemental, and can appreciate a good sense of humor.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to enjoy every day by learning something new and appreciating my loved ones. I have no desire to be a Standard American.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - I love peculiar comedies and I'm not a big fan of slapstick/mainstream humor. I love Little Miss Sunshine, Amelie, Harold and Maude, Office Space, The Big Lebowski, etc.

Music - I typically listen to Indie music, but more specifically my favorite bands are They Might Be Giants, Modest Mouse, Pixies and any offshoot of the Pixies. I also enjoy listening to oldies, metal, punk rock, old country, and anything live. Not a fan of jam bands, jazz, or new country.

Books - So many to read and so little time! The past 4 books I have read are about punk rockers becoming buddhists. However, some of my favorite books are The Stranger by Albert Camus, A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving, and Fierce Invalids from Hot Climates by Tom Robbins.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer. I am currently too busy with medical school to work, but I was in the business for about 7 years.

Teach, Learn, Share

Naturopathic Medicine is a specific path of healing that includes its own philosophy, as well as treatment modalities. We use homeopathy, botanical medicine, acupuncture/Chinese medicine, physical medicine, nutrition, and hydrotherapy along with mainstream medicine's techniques of diagnosis and use of pharmaceuticals to treat the patient, as opposed to the disease.

As a Naturopathic Medical Student I believe that we use natural remedies to encourage the body's innate wisdom to heal itself.
