I informally did Couchsurfing before couchsurfing.com in 1995 hitchhiking around Africa and staying with people we met in their homes.

I've had to read so many sad books, my dissertation is about the Angolan civil war, so right now I'm trying to read non-sad things. True things, honest to the core things, a-la "Another day of life"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Illegal entry into DRC (Congo), hitchhiked a plane over the Kalahari desert, rescued a friend OUT of a Namibian hospital...Survived a bikram yoga class yesterday. Always a shock to live through it...

I know about the history of the Angolan war 1961-2002 quite well. I know statistics. I know how to waitress. I can teach you stretches that can make your body feel better.
