About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world, grow in consciousness, make a difference

ABOUT ME

Soon after graduating from college and getting a big boy job I realized that sitting in an office 8 hours a day doing work that I felt little passion for didn't quite resonate with me. So I did what any sane person would do and quit. Now I'm traveling, volunteering and looking for likeminded individuals who want to make a positive impact in the world.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to use my time and energy to undertake tasks that encourage my growth as well as teach me things about myself. Overall I value personal relationships and internal growth over the accumulation of material posessions.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I sleep on your couch. Paying it forward will have to hold off until I settle down somewhere.

I'm totally willing to help out in whatever way to ease the burden of accomodating me whether its washing dishes, weeding the vegetable patch, walking your dog, you decide!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept in a lot of places that weren't mine, although I am new to this site. I've done a fair amount of outdoors stuff that involved sleeping in tents for multiple days at a time, sleeping on friends' couches while traveling and staying with hosts in exchange for volunteer work.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've recently become interested in reading more about spirituality, particularly the work of A.H. Almaas and the work of the Diamond Approach. I have a good track record of reading fantasy, my favorite series being A Song of Ice and Fire and Wheel of Time. I also enjoy biographies or inspirational true stories, The Heart and the Fist and Man's Search for Meaning are two particular gems.

I like lots of different types of music as long as its made with love. NPR Tiny Desk concerts are pretty cool.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent a week touring the Everglades in a canoe, which I'd say was a pretty defining experience for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can program and know a good bit about computers and math. My main source of income for about a year involved teaching these skills one-on-one. I can also change a pretty mean lightbulb.
