My name is Jérémie, I'm 26, Belgian, and I think I'm quite an open-minded and respectful person. I like to talk about life and stuff (even though I might be shy at first) and I am always keen to learn new things from everyone. I believe in Humanity and what comes from it.

PHILOSOPHY

YOLO ! I truly believe that everyone should live his life how he wants to. I also think that we should take any opportunities that are offered to us to make our life, and the life of people around us, special.
It includes as well the fact we should learn from everyone, and therefore stay humble and true to who we are.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The way I see this project is that it's a double experience: for the person who hosts and for the person who surfs. I really see this as an exchange between people, and I love this idea !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would talk about the chance I had to meet one of the students from the Freedom Writers Diary. Maria Reyes came to our High School to tell her story about being a gangster. She made her testimony with so much emotions, so much anger in her voice, but also so much proud to have been able to get out of this environment. She said that for her it was normal to came back home and learn that her brother or her father killed someone.. but once she stood up ! She could have died everyday anyways so she decided to give the names of the people who were supposed to go to jail. She kind of betrayed her family, but she wanted to get out of this mess. Her testimony will always stick in my head.
