About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Preparing for my dream which is to hitchhike to Argentina or Chile and pickup a cheep sailboat and sail it home.

ABOUT ME

PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING A COUCH REQUEST:
I get a lot of requests that I have to turn down which is unfortunate. YOU MUST HAVE REFERENCES!!! and a decent response rate. Please read my profile and send me a personal message. If I'm unavailable I'll try and hook you up with someone who is because I know other couchsurfing hosts in the area including several I room with. You must have access to a phone or be able to find a payphone and call me if I ask you to do so. I welcome hitchhikers, vagabonds and travelers of all types. I welcome couples and groups and travelers with animals. I also welcome last minute requests and flexible arrival dates. I absolutely love meeting seasoned hitchhikers and train hoppers especially those who have hitched abroad. I don't mind being your backup plan. I'd like to host you! I believe in you and your journey! I want to meet you and spend a little time getting to know you!

Keep in mind that for just $1.75 you can take the city bus 91 east out HWY 126 along the beautiful McKenzie river. It's a beautiful place to camp and makes a great backup plan for any traveler headed to this area. Good luck on your journey! May you find what you seek.

About me:
I went to school for Spanish cause I wanted to travel. Now I do a little bilingual work and mostly chill close to home and take little trips and explore the Northwest. I'm mentally in preparation mode to fulfill all me dreams especially the one I wrote about above as my current mission which will shortly come true cause all dreams do. Than I'll dream up something new :)

PHILOSOPHY

I believe strongly that the world is a safe place. So safe that we don't need to rely on our securities printed in the form of dollars as much as we have been conditioned to think we must. It's so safe that we can go wherever we want whenever we want and have fun doing it cause nobody is ever going to hurt us or stop us. Everyone is kind and caring accept people who send copy/past CS requests they are bad they get denied.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an extremely flexible host, probably because I often hitchhike or bus to random cities just for kicks and end up camping in odd places. This makes me understanding to last minute requests and vagabonds of all types. I haven't been surfing much lately but I plan to, I am planing a lot in my head at the moment. Will keep you posted world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been pretty active hosting and surfing a bit ever since CS finally rolled out a decent android app. Before that I just camped when on the road. I had a great CS experience hitching and surfing out on the east Coast though that was a while back.

Interests

Rock climbing, dancing, sailing, festival hoping, hanging out with my dog, finding water holes and water falls, rooftops and other secret places in nature or in the city. I also like to geocacache on occasion when I'm in a new area just to help me discover new places and explore. I am always asking people their favorite places and taking notes. Than I go and find these places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't read I forgot how after I graduated from college. Though I sometimes make an acceptation for sailing books or Spanish short stores.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a 6 pitch climb and camped on a portal-edge, hang glided over Cape Kiwanda, scuba dived 100 feet deep (in a dumb class), flown an ultralight and a paraglider, gone skydiving, hitchhiked the West coast to the East coast on i40 from Eugene, OR to Asheville, NC in a week.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to practice my Spanish and sometimes I just enjoy talking at someone who can understand what I'm saying. I also like to teach people to rock climb, I have a complete trad rack and can teach you how to use it or how to climb multi-pitch if you're new to climbing. I can teach you how to hitchhike or take you out to try or better yet to hitch-race. I can offer all around great advice on the subject of hitchhiking cause I take a very technical approach which is kinda unique. I can teach you the secret to hitchhiking with truckers. It's kinda simple really but nobody seems to know about it anymore. I can teach you how to camp outside any city and how to do it in style, how to blend like a local and not be looked down upon for being a traveler or a vagabond (I think). I believe my perspective is unique on the subject cause I came up with it myself, tried and true though I'm still learning, adapting and growing everyday.

I want to learn from you. If any of this resonates with you. I want to know your techniques and you favorite places you've visited. I want to hear your travel stories and learn from you. I may even want to join you on the road one day or travel together. If you have experience traveling in South America I especially want to meet you. The reason I like hitchhiking and couchsurfing is because we get to learn from each other and share our wisdom as we gain it along the road. If you know anything about sailing at sea I want to pick your brain.
