Overview
About Me
I'm graduated from an International studies degree in Université de Montréal, and I also used to study in China. Living in Beijing for 3 years was an incredible experience that allowed me to discover a lot and learn Chinese.
Since coming back to Montreal, I haven't been able to travel as much as when I studies abroad, but I've still tried to get involved in different activities such as Chinese-French language exchange, volunteering in a community organization defending right to access to housing in an especially multicultural neighbourhood and contributing to the organization of a Global Social Economy Forum.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used Couchsurfing mostly to meet locals who were willing to show me around and explain me more things about their city when I was in Asia, Spain and Mexico. I'll probably be using it during my next trip to Brazil and Argentina in March 2020. I'm also considering starting to host couchsurfers,
Interests
I'm very much interested by societies and differences between people, but also looking for the things that unite us. I always try to understand others and like to step out of my comfort zone.
Another of my major interests is food (let me be honest instead of saying that I like to cook). I'm trying to stay active by going to the gym, running and doing other sports, but I still gotta work on this because it's easy to give up on that when you get busy.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading and watching movies (especially documentaries), and I think I never spend enough time doing it. I'm often using the time I spend on the public transit to read or listen to podcasts.
I have diversified tastes in terms of music, but I usually prefer indie rock and folk. One of my favourite movies is Incendies from the director Denis Villeneuve. Oh and I might have a guilty pleasure for k-pop at times.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Work as an animator for a French immersion program in my home town to help English-speaking Canadians learn my language and discover this other culture, as we so often live in very different worlds.
Watch the sun rise over the clouds from the top of Taishan (one of the 5 Great mountains of China).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can help you learn the languages I speak or teach you the secret of buss up shut roti and many other cool things.
