ABOUT ME

I dance across the borders and boundaries. The world is a magical place, and I love living in it.
I write about the environment and politics, and I travel for that as well as for pleasure. I want to make the world a better place, one way or another.
I'm traveling a lot this year, after a hiatus of settled-downdom in Eugene Oregon. I'm excited!

PHILOSOPHY

Moderation in all things - ESPECIALLY moderation. Too much moderation is... excessive. The occasional excess is all part of living the moderate life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been an informal couchsurf host for several years, initially in my big sweet house in Eugene, Oregon. I've moved on from there and am in an exploratory phase... mostly I tend to stay with friends when I visit a town, but sometimes I actually hit a town where I don't know anyone yet... It will be awesome to make new friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have a lot of musician friends, so I've hosted many, many wonderful singers and performers as they've travelled around the country. It's always wonderful to have an impromptu music jam in my living room...

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

- Whitewater rafting down a river in Thailand on a raft made of giant bamboo poles lashed together.
- Hang gliding off the Midnight Dome over Dawson City, Yukon, Canada.... then driving up to the Arctic Ocean and camping on the beach under the midnight sun.
- Soaking blissfully in the warmest pool at Cougar Hot Springs, Oregon, as heavy snowflakes swirl down and steam rises up off the waters.
- Most recently, climbing Petit Piton mountain in St Lucia, then going scuba diving for the first time....
