About Me
Recent Austin, TX transplant from Chicago and Detroit.
Music is my passion and drive. It has taught me so much about myself, others, the world, and my place in the world.
I was born and raised in suburban Detroit and spent a lot of time up in the country, enjoying the beauty of nature. At 17, I moved to Chicago to go to school and study music composition. After graduating, I spent two years working as a freelance musician around the Chicago music scene. In July, I moved to Austin, TX to pursue my passion of music and see where the Live Music Capital of the World will take me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To share music and good times with new and interesting people
Music, Movies, and Books
I have a pretty eclectic taste in music ranging from classic country, folk, americana, psychedelia, classic rock, progressive rock, jazz, jazz fusion, classical, contemporary classical, etc. I've pretty much dedicated my life to learning and listening to as much music as I possibly can.
I have been so far removed from the world of film these days, but I do enjoy a good psychological thriller.
I feel like there's not enough time in the world to read all the books one wants to. I recently just finished reading a handful of books by Tom Robbins and Thomas Pynchon. They were all fantastic. I'm also a big fan of nonfiction and biographies.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a guitar with which to play, sing, and share music as well as teach a thing or thing or two about guitar, voice, or music theory.
I also have ears and eyes with which to share stories and experiences.
