Overview
About Me
I'm a 21 year old Finance and Economics student from the University of Melbourne, Australia. I have spent the last year studying abroad in the US, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Since then I've worked at a children's summer camp up in Ontario, Canada, as well as several part time jobs in South Carolina as a waiter. I'm incredibly passionate about travel, meeting new people and having new experiences across the globe. Someday I hope to work in international relations
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having finished at this summer camp I decided to take a semester off of University back home to do some solo travelling. I have limited funds, but at the same time am keen to challenge myself to come up with more creative ways of tackling problems that do not involve money. This website is my first step!

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you a couple basic songs on guitar
I can teach you how to box
I coached tennis for several years, can provide detailed instruction
Some counseling skills.
I can give you a script on how to empathize with a person, show that you are actively listening to them. How to show genuine care and compassion. How to deal with problem behaviors in children but also in friends; how to validate their feelings and make them feel heard while at the same time helping them to recognize the faults in their behaviors/actions. In addition I can show you how to help someone own their own solutions to problems, how to collaboratively problem solve when dealing with relational conflict between individuals.
The skills I learnt at this summer camp I will take with me for the rest of my life. The director of the camp had a saying that means a lot to me. "Bad behavior stems from bad feelings." And "There are no bad people, only bad emotions." If we want to help people we have to acknowledge their feelings, regardless of how they are acting; and help to guide them to healthier ways of tackling or coping with those feelings.

I'm happy to help with anything needed around the property.
Very passionate about economic injustice and income inequality, particularly in the US. I've done a decent amount of research on this and am well versed in economic theory. I can talk for hours about this.

I love to learn about new cultures and environments.
Also love to cook, and am more than happy to contribute in this sense!
