Hey you clicked on my profile so you might be interested in me huh? I am currently living in Iowa City, IA attending the University of Iowa for Mechanical Engineering! This summer I decided on a whim to take a one way flight to Barcelona to travel Europe for 2 months! I’m a midwest man but all my heart loves the activities of the Pacific Northwestern USA. I love all outdoor activities but mostly skiing, mountain biking, disc golf, and hiking. I also recently got into climbing, specifically bouldering and yes, I love it!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ahh the big question :) I’d say i’m couchsurfing to get a more immersive experience in the cities I visit on my trip. I would love to learn about the cultural differences and experience my host’s favorite local places to visit and have fun! Plus I am excited to be able to host people visiting the US when my living situation is more accessible for both me and my future guests.

Interests

Oh yeah the stuff I like to do to have a good time? I get about 20 days of skiing across various resorts each year! I own 3 bicycles but I’m partial to mountain biking as much as possible. (My bike costs more that my car...) Also love reading, bouldering, and lifting weights) I try to do at least a few hours of fun exercise per day. Lastly I enjoy clubbing (edm and top hits) or just hitting a chill pub or blues bar. As for music I have been to over 50 concerts of a wide range of genres from reggae to rap. Favorite band is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Bonus points if you know them :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Ahhh, the Lord of the Rings movie and book series is for sure my favorite fiction movies/book series! Though I am currently into reading self development titles! The only book am traveling with the The Power of Now written by Eckhart Tolle. I highly recommend :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been camping over 120 nights before I was 18! Most of those nights were with the Boy Scouts of America camping with other kids under 18. I earned the Eagle Scout through this program which I am extremely proud of!

I am very into self development and learning about oneself and I have some great tips to share to maximize your daily life! I am also willing to learn and listen as I believe that each person you met in this great big world has something to offer and give, No matter how big or small it is!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Haha I’ll probably have some food or beers from the previous country I was in :) On a more serious note I would love to get to know my host at their favorite spot then buy some drinks or a bottle of wine.
