Overview
About Me
I am a performance artist seeking to share in the rich art communities of the places I travel. At home in California I create theatre with ensembles of artists to make live spectacle and immersive experiences. We do this through puppetry, dance, mime, masks, and multi-media. I also teach puppetry and other physical theatre arts - I hope to meet inspired people and trade stories, tricks, skills, and inspirations of all sorts.
I’m also a street performer and like to challenge myself to play on the street at least once when I visit somewhere.
I'm hoping to share discovery, joy, and risk with this community!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So I can connect with locals and share in the culture and cuisine of the places I visit through that lens.
In another life I was an anthropologist, and I just love seeing and sharing in the wonderful rituals that people keep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Started a school for Arts and Vocational skills in CA
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm..
I'm going to be honest with you. I am surprised I've done as much teaching as I have. And it happens often that want to be out of the classroom and doing/making/building things. However, for every hesitation there are 5 moments of discovery I've created in the classroom for students.
Because I'm a clown, and I know how to listen to an audience (I also did birthday parties for 7 years,) - I know how to listen and work with kids. In the last 5 years I've taught: physical theatre, Puppetry, physiology/anatomy, ancient Greek history, STEAM inventions, clown, improvisation, music, dance, mask making, even Mathematics.
We have a lot of fun. And now I've taught ages 4-18 at my school in CA, university students at UC Irvine, and about a dozen special programs with school districts or at-risk youth groups.
I'm an open book, and it humbles me if you'd like me to teach you something.
TO LEARN
Now this is fun, how does that saying go? "Once taught, Twice learned." I love to learn and I consider myself a student of all the fields I teach.
The truth is, we are always practicing something.
Things I'm learning now: Italian language, Tap dance, drumming and percussion, Patience, and.... Accounting! Hahahahhaha, some paths we choose, some paths choose us.
