About Me

At heart, I'm a servant, a romantic, and a hopeless academic. My parents taught me about the inherent value of all and the rewards of serving others. Holding these values are the primary reasons I got in to psychology. I've been practicing for about 7.5 years, and most of my work has been with children and adolescents. Now, I'm working on my PhD, and I spend a good time of my time helping Active Duty military and veterans to move past difficulties in adjusting or to overcome PTSD. Academics takes up a good deal of my time, but I make every attempt to be with my wife and 18-month-old son. We also have a grumpy old dog. I enjoy running, yoga, martial arts, and fitness for its own sake.

PHILOSOPHY

Share love wherever you go. Help people to find what they're looking for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's the opportunity to meet new people and share in life for just a moment.

Also, not everywhere has a hostel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE:

We've hosted a few on our couch over the years, but I'm just getting in to this formally.

Interests

professional interests: My work involves helping veterans with PTSD and TBI. I've practiced psychotherapy for about six years and also interested in moral injury and post-traumatic growth. If you care about veterans' issues, special groups in the military, trauma and its and treatment, and overcoming adversity, then you'll get an interesting conversation out of me.
