About Me
Hello World!
I'm currently on summer vacation from my normal adult life in which I teach and learn Mathematics for a living (Woohoo!). Thus, I am frantically trying to fill up my free time with excursions and adventures! I have already driven from my home in Oakland, CA to Vancouver, BC TWICE in the past month. Although I was mostly staying with old friends and camping on these trips, I successfully employed couchsurfing.com to find nearby travelers to hang with in each city that I visited. Many of the best friendships I have experienced were established in places far from my home. This is why I love the couchsurfing thing so much!
My next trip will be to NYC from August 10th to August 24th! I have never experienced the East Coast before, so I'm absolutely thrilled to get out there! I mainly look forward to checking out the art scene and skateboarding through the heart of the city. I hope to see you there!
My general approach to travel is an itinerary-free/ leaf-blowing-in-the-wind approach. I really love stepping out into a new place and allowing myself to be drawn by whatever catches my senses. This method usually leads me down the path less traveled (i.e. coffee houses and doughnut shops). Throughout my years of travel I have had amazing luck with finding hospitable locals and unconventional tour guides. I graciously accept all stories, advice, recommendations and sleeping accommodations!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The best part about traveling is meeting new people and sleeping in their houses with them!
