I'm a geologist by training, but I'm currently travelling round the world and working from my laptop on some entrepreneurial projects alongside playing music as a singer-songwriter. Away from email, I'm just a wide eyed lover of the outdoors and nature. I'm lucky enough to have travelled with work over the last 10 years and made the most of that travelling in my time off. I have a deep fascination with the natural world around me and I'm never happier than cosying myself up in Terra Mata's arms alongside good friends. I love tea... and cheese... and get a sick pleasure out of telling awful (and therefore by default, great) puns...

I joined Couchsurfing as an experiment in 2009 and quickly realised that it fits my life and personality like a glove. Travellers are by far the most interesting and enlightened group of people in modern society and I will never grow tired of sharing a cup of tea with someone who can challenge or enlighten my own observations through their own experiences of the world and its inhabitants.

Waaaay too many to mention without boring the reader, but I love adventure writing (The White Spider, Into Thin Air), acoustic (Ben Howard, Bon Iver) and electro (Daft Punk, Justice) music and movies that either entertain or thought provoke. I've always had a passion for live performance and have fallen in love many times whilst transfixed in a crowd.

Living, working and travelling in a post civil war Angola for 16 months was a constant stream of amazement. I also rode a bicycle from the UK to Delhi, but that's another story.

I love meeting other musicians. I've always found playing music to be one of the best ways to break down barriers with new people. I'm an experienced guitarist and love to play for friends round a campfire!
