About Me

CURRENT MISSION

keep my head above the fray

ABOUT ME

I always thought the title to this section was a little optimistic. I don't even know "all about me" yet. Here's "a little about me" instead. I love cleverness in many forms. Clever wording, clever people, clever ideas... etc. I am an entrepreneur at heart. I think I may be related to some ancient clan of explorers or nomads because that is what feels natural to me. I am a christian in that I believe that Jesus is the answer to many questions in life. I enjoy the uniqueness of people, life and the way people live it. Outside of the box is a good place to be. I am libertarian. I just had to look up how to spell libertarian.

PHILOSOPHY

“I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time.”
― Jack London

Music, Movies, and Books

Call of the wild. Anything by C.S. Lewis. Classics. Things that are thought provoking, insightful, or clever.
Music.....love the stuff. Right now I've been really digging on some Xavier Rudd.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The North Country (Alaska, Yukon). To quote Jack London.."Raw and Raked, Wild and Free." In my mind that wild place has always been synonymous with beauty of a more primitive sort.

Many other places...

Teach, Learn, Share

Passion is one of the most important aspects of a life, but I am beginning to see that it is mainly useless unless it can be directed to some particular end. Slowing down and enjoying people, though often confused with laziness, is a noble pursuit and also a highly useful talent.

Argentina, Bolivia, Botswana, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Estonia, Ethiopia, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Japan, Kenya, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Malawi, Mexico, Mongolia, Panama, Peru, Poland, Romania, Russian Federation, South Africa, South Korea, Tanzania, Thailand, Turks and Caicos Islands, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Viet Nam, Virgin Islands, British, Zimbabwe
