About Me

HELLO!
It's been awhile since my wife Emily and I have traveled and are so excited to be going on a sabbatical for about 6 weeks. :)

Flight into Oslo - 4 nights; Lisbon - 4 nights; Azores - 5 nights; Malaga - 25 nights;
then ?!
not sure -
haven't booked the flight home yet - EEEEE!

Right now, we are self-financing and building our own home in St. Petersburg FL USA while we live in a 180 sq. foot 1964 Airstream camper. We can be a bit romantic about our do-it-yourself capabilities, but try to "enjoy the process".

ABOUT ME

...adventurous and love to travel. I go hard and then fall asleep and do it again. Major music nerd, I used to teach and now am involved in marketing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the couchsurfing community.

Plain and simple.

Whether it's hosting or surfing, I love what this group represents and enjoy being part of it.

Some see it as a free stay. And if that's what you're after, it's definitely out there, but you're selling yourself short.

We've (Emily and I) loved couch surfing both as hosts and surfers. We talk often how it has changed us to the core. The generosity of spirit and welcoming us into homes as given us so much joy - we talk about it to any fellow travelers we come across.

In addition to the hospitality and graciousness of hosts who are helping you *live a dream* by shifting a financial burden for the middle-class, it's the best way to connect to an area, especially when you don't have a lot of time in that area. The people make up the places. You can travel in style, but being mixed in with the local people is where you're really get your finger on the pulse of a place.

We've been fortunate so far to have an amazing CS family, all of whom we hope to see again one day. And if that is or will be you, thank you so much! We can't wait to share a bottle (or 5 - ha!) of good wine.
