About Me
Hi. I'm Jeremy (Usually just go by Jer for short)
I'm a photographer and writer who is traveling around, meeting people (host and other locals), and working on some photography projects along the way. Doing it all with little or no funds. Talk about one crazy, fun, life-changing experience...this has been it.
To see what I've been up to you can visit my journal at http://www.lifeinhere.com. To read about what led to me starting this journey and to see some of my photography work visit http://www.jerjohns.com.
I'd love to meet and share my stories along with hearing stories of your own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few things:
Came out as gay in 2008. Had most of my friends and family (including my mother) disown me. It was tough and still is at times, but I managed to survive and live a happy and full life today.
Walked away from a retail management job making 6 figures a year, ended up giving up almost all of my physical belongings and money and spent nearly a year (July 1, 2012 - May 20, 2013) living on the streets of NYC to find myself, my passions, and my purpose.
From January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2015; I visited 33 different cities, stayed with over 50 hosts, met hundreds of people, heard thousands of stories, and took thousands of photos.
Met and fell in love with my (now) fiancé, Stafford. Sadly, he is in school and unable to travel with me. Working towards being able to be near him on a more permanent basis now.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach from what I've learned from my time on the streets, on the journey, and from own personal experiences throughout life. Maybe give some tips on photography, if wanted.
I share stories, lessons, and inspiration from my experiences and if you want new photos of anything (you or nearly anything else), I love taking photos...just ask and I'd be glad to assist.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories & lessons from my journeys and the people that I've met along the way.
My ear to listen. The world is a crazy place and sometimes we just need someone to talk to that will listen and know that we and our stories matter. I'm willing to be that person to listen or experience things with.
