About Me
Hi! My name is Jeroen, and I am a Dutchman! I'm pretty new to couchsurfing, so no references yet. But you gotta start somewhere right!
My study usually keeps me busy most of the week. People studying medicine are usually very structural and calculating. Unfortunately I hate planning, and I love deciding things on the go.
Best way to relax is 1) Listening and making music and 2) Traveling. Clearing your mind, getting to know stuff you would have never thought of if you didn't travel. (CLICHE ALERT!!! I really think that traveling and getting to know new people and other cultures will make anyone a better person.) Personally I like to expose myself to new environments and people as much as I can, this should happen more often in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
What better way to get to know a place than by getting to know the people?
Living in the centre of Amsterdam, I am really starting to hate the mass tourism thing. Actually speaking to people and actually seeing things worthwhile make traveling so rewarding. And: What is better than living with locals? yep. Drinking with locals.
Interests
I'm really into listening and making music. Must be driving my neighbours crazy... Most days are spent working or studying, so spare time is rare. During summer I visit music festivals. Even just the campsite experience at most festivals is totally worth it, in addition to seeing your favorite bands along with discovering unexpectedly awesome music.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I like loud guitars and music with 'soul'. Litteraly anything from AC/DC to Stevie Wonder. I can spend hours online listening to music, making playlists.
Movies: The best movies are old spaghetti westerns, like the good, the bad and the ugly. Cohen brothers are amazing, Scorsese and Eastwood are the best, and Schwarzenegger even better
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Where to begin??? Diving in an old shipwreck? Moshpit with Iggy Pop? Hiking up a volcano? Partying in an old german bunker? Visiting the national Balet in st. Petersburg (whilst beeing extremely hungover)?
work in progress...
