About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Coddiwompling ~ to purposefully travel towards a vague destination.

Currently slowly settling down in an Amsterdam apartment, although regularly escaping to Berlin.
Now planning adventures from here instead of from my van whilst traversing Europe.

My most recent large adventure: Bikepacking and Diving from ocean to ocean - west Guatemala to east Belize; Overlanding Rwanda & Uganda; Bikepacking Panama and Colombia with sailing through San Blas.

Next up big adventure: Motorpacking from Amsterdam to Serengeti and on to Capetown.

#LiveYourStory

ABOUT ME

All day I dream, whilst working hard at the doing.

As an entrepreneur I'm continuously focussing on generating added value to the lives of people around me and enabling our home planet to regenerate. I collaborate based on the African ways of Ubuntu and Kgotla.

I love stories with a heritage origin as they continuously inspire me and teach me new things about our values and help me cherish them, pass them on or build upon them.

PHILOSOPHY

Throw your dreams into space like a kite and you do not know what they will bring back to you: a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country, a new smile...

- Enjoying life to the fullest independent of all resources.
- Do one thing every day that scares you.
- If better is possible, good is not enough.
- Say yes first, and then ask why, what and how.
- Always be in for a challenge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has overcome me in many ways and forms and there's no one way I prefer, I love them all. Connecting, sharing and caring is what it's about for me.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing and hosting both are some of my beloved activities. I really enjoy the company of new people: getting to know them and exchanging stories en lessons.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately I hadn't heard from CS yet when I was backpacking down under back in '07. I did surf a lot of couches through the indian drums network and phone numbers of friends of friends written on dodgy snippets of torn of paper. Since '07 I've hosted and surfed even more couches from far of farmland barns to penthouse lofts in European capitals. Enjoy it!
