About Me

I consider my younger years, after cutting the cord with seeking a degree and being in school, as my wondering years, where I hitched around, spent time travelling in Mexico and Central America, especially Costa Rica. I am married and have a son, with whom I 'm to meet with and travel a bit later this month. My wife and I enjoy travelling, but someone has to take care of the garden and chickens while we're away. I enjoy writing and have worked NASA, WHO and as a freelance science writer. Curiosity and understanding things and people and honesty are at my core. I don't have much interest in drinking and drugs, having experimented with some during my wondering years. I find people much more interesting than things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's good basic economics and as the site already stresses, it's a good way to meet people. Now that my son is an independent young man, I have some time I want to devote a bit of wondering and meeting new people, to rekindle some of the excitement I experienced in my wandering days and also avoiding the static mindset that often comes with ageing.
