About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Life, in all it's possibilities
ABOUT ME
Adventurous, funny, curious, interested, wide-awake, social, gregarious. I'm an American Indian.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is a gift, and an adventure worth sharing. My philosophical approach to life is, "Let's go! Let's do it!" It's all summed up in the word "Yes!"
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to meet more CS-ers. I'm interested in meeting anyone coming through the Bay Area. I can show them around, give pointers, etc. And I'm looking to travel more, both in the US and abroad.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm a little new to CS. My housemates have hosted before, and I've enjoyed meeting the CS-ers who come here. I am able to host myself if you don't mind sharing close quarters.
Interests
I love to read, write, explore new things, revisit old things, meet new people, talk about books and culture and the world and life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite books: The Book of Laughter and Forgetting; Winter's Tale (Helprin); Song of Solomon; The White Hotel; American Pastoral. Movies: Koyaanisqatsi; Vertigo; Tootsie; Nashville; Pan's Labyrinth; Lawrence of Arabia; Summer Hours; Citizen Kane. Theater: anything by Sondheim; Stoppard; Guare. Music: Sondheim again, but also classic rock, house, world, jazz, pop, and even grand opera. Studied piano for 10 years, and recently wrote lyrics for three songs (still shaking my head about that!). Haven't yet been caught by CW (maybe being an American Indian has something to do with that!), or gansta rap, but can even hang with hip-hop. It's awesome how rich and diverse music is.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In the Adirondacks (upstate New York), I once petted a wild brown bear on the head. It was a wild bear, and rather tame, and I know what I did wasn't the smartest, but I couldn't resist. How many times do you get to pet a bear?!?!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love this idea! I can teach cooking, mostly about how to get great flavor from food. I have taught writing for many, many years, so that is another skill I can share. I can share a LOT about the history of the San Francisco Bay Area to any visitors, even if I am not hosting them myself.
