Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live out every culture there is in the world.
ABOUT ME
I am an avid traveller. I'm a sucker for good sights, which more often than not, results in trips where everything is just a mad rush to cover as much ground as possible. However, what I love best is taking a step back and soaking in the culture: A cuppa in a cafe alongside that busy street instead of trudging through it or sitting in for a performance in an opera house rather than snapping away at that beautiful facade.
I hail from Singapore and in spite of my wish to live in another culture besides my own, it will always be where my heart is. The draw of family, friends, food and familiarity is just too strong for me to resist. Nonetheless, despite its perks that we Singaporeans oft take for granted (don't we all, sometimes), the grass always seems greener and lushier on the other side. Thus, my wanderlust takes me places elsewhere.
I have been mostly to regional places such as Hong Kong and Australia, as well as further places like Netherlands through family trips. However, I have been taking advantage of opportunities during my university stint to move out on my own, to more far-flung places like Nepal and just recently, Mexico. I can travel independently but I do so love good company and cost-sharing help to stretch my trip just that little bit further.
But wait, who am I? 24-year-old student who knows how, when and where to have a good time. Drinks and parties but in moderation. Cracks jokes whenever he can but knows when to be serious. Loves good sight-seeing and is currently exploring photography. Believes in making peace not warcraft. Enjoys the occasional sport and computer game. Has a newfound interest in cooking but has thus far only succeeded in convincing himself to try the food.
What else would you like to know?
Am I neat?
Yes. Weeeell, occasional lapses.
Am I fun?
Try me out :)
PHILOSOPHY
Life is too short to stay at home. See life, live life as it was meant to be and do not let fear of any sorts stand in your way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am currently unable to host anyone because I have yet to have a place of my own. But when that part of my grand plan in life develops, I will be glad to open up my humble abode.
Nonetheless, I will be more than glad to welcome and bring you around sunny Singapore if you make the trip. Do feel free to drop me a message through CS for any travel advice or itinerary help. If you plan to make Singapore a springboard for other nearby Southeast Asian countries, I may also be able to help a little.
Meanwhile, I do hope to also share a slice of culture from Singapore or even my travelling experience when I couchsurf. Giving goes both ways and I will definitely try to find a way to thank you.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None so far. I have always went through the conventional means, such as staying at hotels/hostels/BnBs and friends/acquaintances' houses. I had heard of couchsurfing before I joined but never took the next step to try it out. Hearing of friends' great experiences encouraged me to participate in the culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Kill Bill has always been my all-time favourite. Gore doesn't usually go well with me but I guess this was an exception? I lean towards more of action and thriller movies. Suspense do fine by my books too, including the occasional comedies.
Serials: Don't you just hate it when it is season-finale. Am currently hooked on Fringe, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory and Dexter. No more please. They already consume a huge chunk of my life.
Books: Still stuck on fiction but occasionally pick up that travel or history book based on spontaneous interest.
Music: Quite a few genres. Piano, Pop, Rock, Metal, Indie, Alternative etc. etc. and the occasional orchestral. Am a budding audiophile with a sad budget.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
White water rafting. Catching the sunrise over the unspoilt mountains. Living with the locals. Playing with the kids. Only in Nepal.
Meeting with Culichis, checking out ancient pyramids at Teotihuacan, staring at gorgeous churches. Mexico is etched in my mind.
The list doesn't and should not end. I can't just choose one.
