About Me

Hi there! My name is Jeronimo Otal, im from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been travelling for almost a year and a half at this point. I started in South America, one year in Australia after that, and just finished my 3 months journey around south east Asia. My next destination is Europe, so here we go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I got in touch with Couchsurfing in 2010 due to my family. We have a big house with free rooms in Buenos Aires, and my mother suggested we should offer them to travellers who would need a nice and comfortable place to stay. That was one of the best ideas ever.

Interests

At the moment im travelling around Europe, looking for an authentic experience rather than the touristic way. I will visit some of the "big cities" but I always prefer the local advise and point of view, Im really open to suggestions. Music is my passion, and as a musician I think it gives you the chance to discover the roots of people and the culture of every place. I love to cook and would like to exchange gastronomic experiences as well!

Music, Movies, and Books

During the last years ive been exploring different music styles, reading about the origins of Soul and Funk music, Rock&Roll, Folk, it always lead me to Blues, Jazz and afroamerican music, I just simply love it.
I really like movies, preferably cult movies, big Tarantino and Coen brothers films fan. Im always looking for a new book to read, open to recomendatios. Reading Herman Hesse material at the moment.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived for 2 weeks in a little cabin located in the mountains of Bariloche, Patagonia Argentina and experienced an amazing electrical storm up there. One of the most frightening but precious things ive ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

Im always open to learning new lenguages and teaching some Spanish would be really nice too. Also, if you want to have a good argentine meal I will be happy to share it !
I travell with my trumpet everywhere, always looking for the chance to play and share my music with the world :D
