My name is Jerry and I was born in China, raised in Hawaii and currently living in Seattle (thanks to CS actually, see below.) The beautiful islands of Hawaii is definitely home. I don't have space at my place, but I see that meeting up is an option and I am very open to do that.

I love to travel, and although I haven't been to many countries, it is on my list! I believe that meeting great people and experiencing local culture can be done anywhere in the world. So when I look to travel, I look to go places with beautiful nature, and tasty cuisine. I love eating and trying different foods, but am specially a huge fan of Asian cuisine and seafood. My favorite meal would be a tasty bowl of Pho'....and onion ginger crab, wait no, oysters....oohh, can't forget the ribeye steak....., but the Uni though! Ah, I have a problem.

On a side note, I really enjoy listening to other peoples' stories and experiences and sharing mine with them. I especially love to hear travel stories as most times the experience is so raw and it's always an eye opener to hear about different countries and cultures. I like people who are honest, and considerate, and bonus points for a sense of humor. I'd like to think I'm funny and I enjoy making others laugh.

I enjoy being outdoors and love nature. In Washington I love hiking in some of the most beautiful landscapes one can imagine. In Hawaii, I loved the beaches and the hikes, but it is a totally different landscape and are both beautiful in its own setting. I also enjoy relaxing evenings that end with some good food, good company and a glass of red wine. (or a cold brew depending on the atmosphere!) Family and close friends are what I treasure, and I hope to meet more amazing people in this world!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Remember that volcano on the big island of Hawaii that was on the news daily? Yeah, I was living on that island so the air quality was not ideal for some time. At the same time, I've always wanted to try this thing called life on the mainland and had my eyes on Vegas for awhile (cost of living, friends living there, jobs, etc.) So I took two weeks off to look at different neighborhoods in Vegas for a week. The second week was leisure in Vancouver, Canada as I loved that city the first time I visited. This was a solo trip, so while I was planning it, I thought what the heck, let me add a stopover in Seattle since I've had some friends visit and liked the city. Long story short, I stayed with a couple CS hosts (my first time CS-ing) and had a blast, not only with them but with the city of Seattle. So when I got back to Hawaii the very next day, I got a job lined up and purchased my very first one way ticket thanks to Couchsurfing and the friends I've met. :)

Music: I like a variety of music, but in general I like pop, soul, acoustic and some hip hop. Top artists would be John Legend, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, and Eminem.

Movies: Really hard to choose top movies as I like a lot of them! IP Man, Pursuit of Happiness, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, F and F series.
TV Show: Friends

Books: Self improvement books.
