Resumen
Sobre mí
I was born in Beijing and grew up in the SF Bay Area. I studied biochemistry in San Diego. Went to medical school, then dropped out after 1 year :D
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I'd like to experience each new place from the perspective of a local, and I'd like to offer the same authentic local experience to visitors of my home base San Francisco. I think the best value of travel comes from culture exchange and immersion.
Before starting medical school I went on a solo backpack trip across South East Asia and Eastern Europe. It was easily the best three months of my life. I had so many wonderful and unique experiences I could hardly fit them into two travel journals. The most memorable experiences usually involve unexpected interactions with local residents of a city I'm visiting.
After a year of medical school, I realized that if I went through with this career choice, I probably won't have a chance to do long term travel ever again. So I googled the most location independent jobs, and all of them are software related. I decided to drop out of medical school and teach myself how to code. It's been a few years since then and I now work remotely while traveling the world.
