About Me

Born and raised in Sabah, Malaysia, lived in Nottingham, UK for just over a year and now I'm back home. Sometimes I choose to be more of a listener than a talker, because I find that everyone has such wonderful stories to tell. I am passionate about all things in life and I love learning new things. Love to laugh (at myself and others).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've had many friends tell me about their wonderful experiences and the new friends they meet through Couchsurfing, and I'm jealous!

Interests

I love music and I think acoustic jamming sessions are the best. Some of my favourite memories in life involved me playing my guitar in various bands and singing groups either performing for crowds or entering competitions. I must say, I can't sing very well so I'm always on the lookout for singers!

TL;DR
To be honest, I've too many interests to list them all here, but here's my attempt: Hiking, travelling, dogs (and cats), reading, meeting new people, meeting old friends, eating (there should be a whole section for favourite food), watching plays, movies and anything that moves on TV and in the theatre, technology, hosting people, playing games.

I am also an avid fan of Real Madrid, and I love to play football/futsal (indoor football). Oh, and add in photography too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I play the both the acoustic and electric guitar so I tend to have a preference for music where there's a band playing (not so much into R&B and pop). Although I can't sing very well, I'm always up for late night jamming and karaoke sessions (and might I add, annoying the neighbours!). Too many favourite bands to list, but if you like anything from Muse to Florence + the Machine to Pink Floyd, I think we'll get along just fine.

Movies: It's fun to go to the cinema to watch big Hollywood blockbusters with friends, but I find the most joy in discovering indie films with new/not-so-well-known actors and directors. I think indie films tend to explore more interesting and provoking themes, ideas, styles of acting and directing. The more gut-wrenching, heartbreaking the film is, the better. Happy endings are a little overrated sometimes. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Requiem for a Dream are two that comes to mind.

Books. Absolutely love books. All kinds.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Japan for a month with very little knowledge of the language, culture, and getting separated from friends. One of the best experiences of my life, to just get lost in a whole new environment without much connection to your normal routine (did not have Facebook at that time). Thus began my addiction for travelling and new experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd teach you to appreciate life the way I see it, I'd love to learn about what makes you YOU, and we'd share the experiences that have touched us the most along the way.
