My mission is to provide a space for love and spirit wherever I go.

ABOUT ME

I have lived many lives: as a scholar, a dancer, a waitress, a documentary filmmaker, a TV editor, and now a Mom and intuitive guide/teacher. For many years, I thought I was too "all over the place" until recently coming to see that it all led me to who I am and what I do now. I believe in a world of cooperation and safety, in which people peacefully resolve conflicts and are able to be their true gifted selves. Plus I'm pretty good reading people's cards!

PHILOSOPHY

For years, I have maintained that mine is a life of exploration, adventure and authenticity. It's been interesting to see how "exploration" and "adventure" have translated into family life. I no longer have the option of traveling to Thailand on a moment's notice, but I try to make life with my kids as much of an adventure as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have been approached by one surfer whom I enthusiastically accepted. But her plans changed and we weren't able to connect. Synchronistically, hoewver, she was looking for an intuitive guide and we are now working together. Funny how life works out sometimes. Otherwise, I surfed informally - pre-web days - during my travels in Europe in 1990.

Interests

When I lived in LA, I was an avid if not very skilled surfer. In WA, I do yoga and hike. My kids and I spend a lot of times outdoors, especially since my daughter is such a nature lover and budding biologist. Despite no longer being in the entertainment industry, I LOVE movies, as well as books and - surprisingly for someone from the Bronx - country music.

Favorite music right now: Miranda Lambert, Nashville - the soundtrack, Kacie Musgraves, anything from Bollywood (my Pandora is called Tees Maar Khan - a goofy Bollywood flick). Favorite Movies?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One night in Bangkok, on a crowded city street, I unexpectedly came eye-to-eye with an elephant. It is no exaggeration to say it felt as if we looked into each other's souls. More than 5 years later, during a healing, a shaman asked me "Have you ever had an encounter with an elephant? It's spirit has been protecting you through your ordeal."

Teach, Learn, Share

I encourage all people to try their hand at divination: whether it's the I-Ching, tarot cards, or runes and I am an eager instructor. I also love teaching people to knit, though it usually takes some repetition and practice to get the muscle memory clicking. And I love sharing my knowledge on mindfulness practices.
