We love hosting and will begin hosting again in November, 2013. Please use "send couch-request" button for inquiries about surfing with us if your travel dates are after November 5th.

Martin met Jes while they were traveling in Vienna in 2006 and the rest is history.

Jes studied Architecture and Martin studied Animation. We are currently working together as entrepreneurs- learning programming, building digital products, and traveling around Europe. FYI Jes just turned 30, Martin is 33!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are currently traveling from our base in Berlin. We've hosted in NYC for a few years through CS and other channels, and will be traveling 'round the world at some point next year~ we are very excited to meet new people and have beautiful conversations....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Always excited to be an active part of this community. Contact us for coffee and conversation (currently in Berlin!). Our home in Brooklyn was open to travelers for three years on a different platform before we found out about CS. After we found out about it, we started hosting on CS right away. We would love to use it more for traveling too.

Interesses

We are both equally crazy (crazy IN LOVE with life) and love so many things...! It's a difficult question to answer, but we will try to make a list that barely touches the surface~

Jes: loves beautiful architecture- her dream is to visit Iran to see the architecture. She also loves poetry, cats, quantum physics, reading, writing, the desert, nature walks, bodies of water, fashion, long conversations, browsing blogs, and learning new languages. She also has a weakness for Indian music, and she will get all nerdy on you when she wants to talk about urban planning in an old city.

Martin: loves A beautiful story, he collects Hayao Miyazaki movies. He loves PIXAR, BLUE SKY Studios, reading about cars and engines, (watches TOP GEAR like its no tomorrow), UFC, astronomy, techie stuff (researches for days upon days before buying anything electronic), he loves learning and talking about history, airplanes (especially the old war planes) and he loves to share his opinions about good acting in movies.

We both love: The Ocean- our dream is to own a house by the sea... We also both love Brazilian Jiujitsu! oh- And road trips and movies...

Jesicka: Sailing around Cebu Island, meeting Philippine Indians living off the land. Also driving through Philippines while sun was setting- seeing the landscape of Apocalypse Now...

Martin: Camping in Sweden with his buddies~

Jesicka: Getting her black belt certification in Tae Kwon Do (certified by Kukkiwon, South Korean TKD headquarters after 7 years of training!)

Martin: Cycling in Germany for 7 hours straight...
