Overview
About Me
I’m originally from San Francisco and am currently finishing up my undergraduate degree in Statistics and Folklore and Mythology. I'm new to Couchsurfing and open to meeting people from all over the world and sharing experiences with you.
Come June, I'll be working as a food and features reporter (which means I love love love talking about food). Though food is my main passion, my professional interests have taken me all over the map — I've worked as a freelance food writer, a data graphics reporter, a curriculum designer, a podcast producer, and a software engineer. I've also started a streaming company in the US with one of my best friends! You can catch me dancing, blasting indie rock music or going to concerts, cooking and eating delicious, and debating the aesthetics of things in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an avid fiction reader and love all good fiction recommendations, specifically contemporary fiction! In the past year, my favorite book was Leaving the Atocha Station by Ben Lerner. Also, I will pick up anything by Lorrie Moore, Mosin Hamid, and Donna Tartt.
Dance performance captures my heart specifically Bill T Jones, Merce Cunningham and Batsheva.
Favorite movie: Three Billboards in Ebbing Missouri
Favorite band: Broken Social Scene
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'm a foodie and cultural historian at heart, so when the chance arose, I spent the beginning of 2020 researching and writing an Ancient Mesopotamian cookbook looking at the oldest recipes in the world. But why stop there? So I decided to recreate recipes from Ancient Egypt and China.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love trying new vegan foods and recipes (though I’m not vegan myself)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my experiences growing up in San Francisco, studying at an American university, choosing my major Folklore and Mythology, writing food journalism, and pitching investors in the start-up scene.
