About Me
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I had a pretty bizarre introduction to Couchsurfing. One that began with finding myself stranded in our neighbouring state, in the city of Melbourne.
Recalling an old friend of mine resided there (and frequented intriguing posts about his wanderlust lifestyle) I gave him a call and was told to swing by 'the house'. An unforgettable train trip later, I entered the house I later knew as a home and I don't think my life has been quite the same since.
This home, called 'Crunchytown' is a legendary communal living concept created by (and I knew none the better) my old friend, Sam Manson. It's a transient space that holds up to 35 travellers at a time, who welcome those who come across it with open arms and hearts. Five days after meeting Crunchytown members, I moved down to Melbourne and lived in this incredible community for the better half of a year.
It was where my mind was opened and a new way of living was introduced to me. I was more than appreciative :-)
Couchsurfing, and people's unique way of incorporating it into every day lifestyles has gifted me some of the most amazing experiences, and the best friends. It is a reminder of our ability to show compassion and interest, with a focus on sharing and love.
To give and to accept. To constantly learn and grow. To never want more, but to always want to be better, for the wonderful world we live in.
Interests
- Although I do occasionally need time to rejuvenate, I absolutely love people. My life is harmonious when my relationships are, and I love hearing and sharing stories, knowledge and experiences.
- I am an eternal student although I may switch focus more quickly than I should to another topic that catches my eye.
- Theatre, film, and music.
-Dancing! Salsa, flamenco, samba, bachata, kizomba, contemporary. I'm not an amazing dancer, but I have amazing enthusiasm. It's just fun to move freely and appreciate that we can
