About Me

I was born and raised in small town Missouri. I think being in a small town fueled my love for travel. The feeling of constantly growing by doing cool things and meeting amazing people. I went to college after HS and earned a Bachelor's in Advertising/PR with some business thrown in there. During college I took a leave of absence and studied at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia and spent 8 months studying (which isn't really a thing there) and traveling up the coast to Queensland. Byron Bay is my dream land. College is also where I started my passion for health and natural living. I could go on all day about using food as medicine, medicinal herbs, foraging, fermenting, gut health, acupuncture, etc. and roll that right on into spirituality, meditation, and thoughts on metaphysics. I love being active and making sure the body gets plenty of natural movement through yoga, (newbie) rock climbing, running, and anything else fun. Currently, I am working on trying to find work that allows me to travel and eventually would like to invest in a van so that I can take me, my two small dogs, and life on the road. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea! I think traveling should be affordable, easy, and have endless opportunities of meeting new people. Also traveling light without the added responsibilities of other forms of stay seems like the way to go. Once I am settled in a place I hope to offer the same traveling opportunities to others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any books related to my interests, movies would me more documentaries, and music, well, I do love some country! But love listening to all kinds depending on my mood and what I'm feeling. I think positive music and sounds can be quite healing. My favorite would be live music, anything from someone playing the ukulele to multiple people playing singing bowls.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My trip to Australia was the longest, furthest, most cultural experience I've had to date, so it would be my number one for sure.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love sharing anything I know or experiences I have had if they are inspiring or helpful to others. But even moreso I love talking to people and learning about what they have done/doing. The topics I enjoy talking about the most are everything I listed in my interests. I like conversations where people feel comfortable enough to be transparent and real because I think the best relationships come from it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Any health knowledge I have in my arsenal, I love to cook especially with local or foraged foods, I'm an animal lover, and I am sure there are lots of other things!
