Overview
About Me
For most of my life I have been what I call a "professional student", afraid to face the realities of the working world. After high school I completed my first university degree, a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, at McMaster University where I played varsity soccer and acted as a sports medicine therapist for the men's varsity rugby team, what an awesome experience. Upon graduation I decided to complete a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Kinesiology where I worked with autistic children and individuals affected by Parkinson's disease.
Throughout my M.Sc. journey, I realized that my true passion lies within the field of health care and that is when I decided to become a Registered Nurse (RN). I have been working as a RN for one year now and while work is a priority, I have come to appreciate the need for continual growth and hope to continue to broaden my traveling experiences.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to the couchsurfing website, had tried it with a friend a couple of years ago and had three outstanding experiences. I love to travel and meet new people and have found that couchsurfing combines these two passions.
Interests
I love ALL outdoor activities, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, hiking, camping, making fires, eating s'mores and spider dogs, cycling and running. I also love to play sports including soccer, volleyball and football.
The less competitive side of me enjoys card games (mainly euchre), board games (Settlers of Catan, Catch Phrase, Balderdash and Scrabble) and arts and crafts (sewing, knitting, furniture DIY and decorating).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love country music, folk music, Scottish/Irish Rock and smooth jazz. I am also the type to have at least 3 books on the go at a time as there are many genres that interest me. I am currently reading "All Creatures Great and Small" James Herriot, "The Alchemist", Paulo Coehlo and "The Wealthy Barber Returns" David Chilton.
