I'm a 28 year old female living in the south of Italy with my two dogs, having previously lived in parts of England, America, Slovakia and Montenegro.

I'm working as a chef and writer in Italy to make ends meet, whilst also attempting to learn construction through Youtube in order to renovate my house and eventually run it as a restaurant and accommodation (the fact that I'm yet to lay a single tile straight has not deterred me!).

When I'm not doing that I'm menu planning and experimenting with food (need some Guinea pigs!), walking in the mountains, painting, attempting to brush up my Italian by drinking with the locals, making overly ambitious, hairbrained plans, or at the gym.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to be very in to the travelling and back-packing world - for three years I ran a backpackers hostel in the Slovak mountains - but now I'm trying to stay fixed in one place for a little bit. In a few years I'm hoping to convert a pick-up into a camper and hit the road, but for now I figure if Mohammed can't go to the mountain, I'll get the mountain to come to Mohammed - I guess you could say I'm trying to backpack vicariously through the stories of the guests that visit!

Teach, Learn, Share

Very open to being taught just about anything, but speaking more Italian and Slovak, learning about construction and electrics, guitar, or the basics of any martial art discipline would all be hugely interesting to me.

I'd also love to swap cooking tips and recipes with those in the trade (or just with a serious passion for cooking).

What I Can Share with Hosts

A beautiful and large house, car access to surrounding areas, home-cooked dinners, days on the beach, afternoons on the terrace and in the (mini) pool, walks in the stunning Calabrian countryside, visits to local culture.
