About Me
G'day!
I'm an Australian girl with an Irish passport ;p who is more then one year into travelling, living and working in Europe.
I quit my job as a lawyer over a year ago and have been on the road ever since first as a tourist then as a (non-religious) pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago, next an ex pat in Dublin, a back packer in Eastern Europe and now...
I'm now volunteering, working in different industries and hopefully couch surfing my way around my favourite parts of Europe, trying to engage with local people and seeing if there is somewhere I might like to settle for a while.
This year of travel has really changed me, I've met a lot of cool people who think and live differently and I think and live differently too. I'm trying to write and maybe want to make that my thing in the future. I've grown a lot and want to keep doing that for a bit longer. But sometimes there's also time for fun and tourism too!
I hope you can give me some insight into your thoughts, your life and culture for a short time (as well as a couch).
I hope you will come and visit me when I one day return to Australia, so I can return the favour! I do love it very much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet interesting people
And experience local life.
Interests
Local cuisine, good food, wine, coffee and conversation, modern history, nature from the beach to the mountains, skiing (I'm yet to learn to snowboard but really want to!), roadtrips, wandering getting happily lost in a new city.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books - Too many! I read a lot. Australian and American literature and poetry is my favourite eg John Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, Robert frost.
Movies - everything and anything! I watch a lot of films: Hollywood, foreign films, documentaries, art house and alternate films, indigenous films.
Music - too difficult!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walked 1400 km across France and Spain.
Visited remote Aboriginal communities in the desert of central Australia.
Driven from one side of Australia to the other - that's over 4,000 kilometres!
