About Me

I love to learn. I have a background in Zoology where I spent a year as part of my Master's degree studying monkeys in Africa. I love to share my enthusiasm of science with others which is what lead me on the pathway of science educator. I love to travel. I spent a couple of months in Porto, worked at Disney World for a year, lived across Canada and just spent a year in New Zealand before moving to Europe. I have backpacked throughout Europe and SE Asia. I love to read, dystopia novels are my favourite. My partner is an English teacher (his favourite author is JD Salinger), an avid movie buff and comic book connoisseur.
We are looking to call Europe home for the next year and need somewhere to stay while we figure out the logistics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people, particularly travellers. I've just moved to Europe and am hoping to meet locals. Once I'm settled somewhere, hopefully I can reciprocate and take in other couch surfers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love dystopic novels, and science fiction. Harry Potter and The Golden Compass are my favourite series. I've started reading Neil Gamon, who I really enjoy. I also love reading my partner's novel (he just finished writing his first one).
For music, I enjoy a whole range. I do love the music on Grey's Anatomy (although I've long lost interest in the show).
I love the Lord of the Rings movies, amongst many others. It was amazing to see some of the filming locations while I was travelling New Zealand.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know about amazing, but I did have a near death experience almost drowning in a desert in South Africa. You'll have to ask me about it to hear the whole story:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some science demonstrations! Great for bringing out as party tricks. It's science not magic since I'll explain why it works.
