About Me

ABOUT ME

Hi there! I'm Jess. I'm a computer programmer from Kingston NY, originally. I moved to NYC for school, and recently moved back upstate to get a little closer to nature. I live in Amsterdam with my girlfriend Cristina, and we're currently working on renovating the house and garage, as well as a few other personal projects.

I spend my time working online, teaching brazillian jiu jitsu, editing wikipedia, learning new things, and working on the house. Cristina teaches belly dance and is learning to program.

Both of us love to hike, and we're trying to explore the area, try new restaurants and activities, and get more involved in the community. We try exploring somewhere new every weekend, and so far it's been a lot of fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

I often like artsy indie movies. I loved Requiem for a dream, the Fountain, Office Space, Memento, Garden State, Finding Neverland, Crash, and a bunch more.

As for books, I usually go for more serious topics; My Experiments with Truth, A Million Little Pieces, Hyperspace, Le Petit Prince, Of Mice and Men, Les Miserables.

I've been told I listen to girly music: Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Yann Tiersen, Apocalyptica, Iron and Wine, classical stuff, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the ruins in Cancun was pretty awesome. Hiking in Hawaii was breathtaking, and I'd love to go back some day. We've been kayaking a lot this summer, which has been really awesome, and I'm looking forward to doing more. The most memorable parts of my life have been traveling, hiking, and exploring. I'd love to do more.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a few things that I'd be happy to share. I teach brazillian jiu jitsu and have some mat space in my home - you're welcome to join in during a class, or I can show you a few things in private. Anything else I know I'd be happy to share, just ask :)
