ABOUT ME
I love people (I think this goes without saying here - misanthropes probably don't join CS, hopefully...) But really, I find constantly surrounding myself with people to be incredibly energizing - my productivity level legitimately goes down when I'm alone! I think most of my friends would tell you that I can get along with just about anyone. I think there's no one in this world that you can't learn something from. I grew up and went to university in Boston/Cambridge but have always had a love affair with Europe so am now relishing living in London!
PHILOSOPHY
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to the couchsurfing community but have some good friends that are very involved. Am really excited to be a part of it and to contribute/gain from such an awesome concept!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
“Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” – Maya Angelou
I'm looking forward to forging many unexpected connections through CS!
Interests
I love quotes as you can probably tell, because they represent the power and force of language. I've dabbled in poetry but would definitely like to pursue it more! I'm also fascinated by topics relating to religion and humanism.
I'm an active person and love sailing, running, wondering, basketball, and cycling in new/less well-known places. I also adore almost all things French :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to a friend's wedding in October in Delft, The Netherlands (half Dutch-themed, half Congolese - amazing!), forgot my passport in London but was let through the French border with a scanned copy, had an amazing weekend and then was told by the Brits I had to get an emergency passport waiver from the American Embassy in Paris so despite what could have been a disaster, ended up spending an incredible week with friends from my time studying abroad there! Twas quite the adventure and was a great reminder of how unexpectedly generous and welcoming people can be.
Also just got back from Crete and saw some mind-blowing Minoan ruins!
But biking through the Tuscany countryside and visiting Auschwitz are definitely some of the most powerful experiences I've had so far traveling.
Teach, Learn, Share
Am interested in a career in clinical psychology so would love to talk to anyone interested in psychology! Also would love to practice my french and am currently trying to learn guitar!
I spent two years writing my senior thesis on a French Holocaust Rescue Movement so am definitely down to discuss anything in that realm. On a lighter note, I sailed competitively in high school and college so if you need a crew for your boat, I'm your girl!
